Check out Robins progress...

The Lynn Recruitment Mini continues successfully to compete in events throughout Ireland and dispite two breakages Robin continues to win. Dungannon. Cookstown, Portadown and Lurgan have all been great results but a broken gearlever at Enniskillen and a faulty driveshaft coupling at Toomebridge mean't two second places. Nevertheless Robin's skill and determenation was very evident and he bounced back with two class wins! Things are now getting pretty hectic with Robin competing in Top Gear in Germany for 1 week commencing on the 23rd of August. Then its back to Cookstown for the final round of the N.I. Championship and Cork City two weeks later with the Lynn Recruitment Mini covering all of Ireland.

Two rounds of the Northern Ireland Championship just over and great success for Robin in the Lynn Recruitment Mini Saloon. But to recap on 2009 and the results achieved. Robin proved the class act of the field by being the only competitor to take maximum points and remain unbeaten in his class in the Northern Ireland autotest championship. Eight class wins out of eight rounds was a remarkable achievement and speaks volumes for not only the undoubted skill of the driver but also the immaculate preparation of the Lynn Recruitment Mini.

Now to this year and what a start to the championship. Two class wins and first and second overall results sets a new standard for a Mini Saloon against the previous all conquering 'Specials'. Despite being the youngest driver among this elite group of top driving specialists Robin, lets his driving do the talking. He is now jointly leading the Northern Ireland Championship and with eight rounds to go we are in for a battle royale. Roll on Cookstown in three weeks time!

What a year to date – the Northern Ireland autotest championship has just two events left (Coleraine and Cookstown) and with eight rounds held so far Robin remains undefeated in the class and has 3rd overall in the championship. This is an outstanding achievement in a very competive sport and he is one of the youngest drivers competing. The combination of the Lynn recruitment Mini and Robin’s natural talent is certainly being recognised throughout Ireland and the U.K.

Nevertheless we are in for an extremely busy period between now and the year end with two rounds of the Northern Ireland Championship and the start of the Irish Championship which hosts eight rounds before Christmas!

Then in October Robin will be representing Northern Ireland at the annual Ken Wharton Memorial televised outside Birmingham. This is the most prestigious event of the year and it is a great honour for Robin and the Lynn recruitment Mini to be chosen once again for the team. Robin is hoping to repeat the success of 2008 and bring the silverware back to Northern Ireland. All at Lynn Recruitment will be giving their full support as usual.

Lots of news and results from the Lynn Recruitment Mini and the success rolls on.  Roscommon, Longford and a double header weekend at Waterford resulted in one 1st overall!! two class wins and one second in class - fantastic results.  It was then to the start of the Northern Ireland Championship in Portadown and Cookstown.  Both venues were packed to capacity with spectators and Robin won the class comfortably.  However it was in Portadown, where a Lynn Recruitment Office is based, that he got the biggest welcome and it was an extremely popular win.  The season really hots up and between now and June there are 8 events.  The biggest of these is the International Trophy with teams from the English Counties and Irish Counties against Northern Ireland. Robin is again on the Northern Ireland Team and hopes to emulate his previous years success - all at Lynn Recruitment wish him well.

Irregardless of the worldwide recession which seems to dominate every daily conversation and newspaper, the Lynn Recruitment Mini Cooper S is still turning in excellent results. Since the success of the Northern Ireland team in October bringing 'home' the prestigious Ken Wharton Trophy, Robin has competed in six events all over Ireland with the following results. An Irish championship event in Galway attracted a very large entry and was held in the City area attracting many spectators. This was followed by the Sligo event and Robin and the Lynn Recruitment Mini won the class and finished 3rd and 5th overall respectively. Mondello Park followed in November and unfortunately a broken driveshaft ended in the first non - finish of the year. Not before long Robin was back to winning ways in Carlow and Tullow ending the year on a high. 2009 started early for Robin with the Omagh Motor Club event on Saturday 3rd January and another winning result with 4th overall. With three more events in January the Lynn Recruitment team will continue to be very active.

Lyons Stars in Northern Ireland Success with LYNN RECRUITMENT Mini

The annual autotesting competition between teams representing Northern Ireland, England, Republic of Ireland, Scotland and Wales was held at Alcester near Birmingham on Saturday past.  A battle royale was ensured for one of the most coveted trophies in motorsport and representing Northern Ireland was Lisburn estate agent Robin Lyons, the current Northern Ireland class champion and the youngest competitor to ever represent his country in the competition.  Driving his LYNN RECRUITMENT sponsored mini saloon, along with team members Sam Bowden (Mini special) Ashlay Lamont (Westfield) and Dave Boyce (Nova) the boys were out to avenge last years defeat and there was no quarter given.  After two tests Lyons was tying for the lead from 10 times Irish Champion, Eamon Byrne.  This was classic stuff from the young pretender against Eamon, one of the greatest exponants of the sport and a good friend and mentor to Robin.  With one of the greatest driving careers of his career, Lyons and his team pulled clear to win by 31 seconds from the Republic of Ireland with England a mere three seconds in arrears.  Against British, Irish and BTARD Champions Robin, in the LYNN RECRUITMENT mini, showed why he is regarded as one of the most naturally talented drivers in this most intricate form of motorsport. In his speech at the presentation of awards dinner, Robin thanked his sponsor, LYNN RECRUITMENT, for their generous sponsorship which helped to make it all happen.

No let up for the Lynn Recruitment Mini and Robin in July and August. Three events - The Loughgall Festival in County Armagh - A first in class and fourth overall. The multi venue charity event in Dublin - First in class and third overall. The eighth round of the Northern Ireland autotest championship in Larne first in class and fifth overall.

A very successful and busy summer period with the mini running faultlessly and Robin keeping the car at the head of the pack.

The next events are Coleraine on August 30th, a 2 day event in Cork on 6th/7th September and Cookstown on 13th September.  After this a new engine, which has been on order from M.E.D Engineering, will be fitted which should give the the mini more power for the Kildare event on September 28th.

Lynn Recruitment and Robin are proving a very successful combination!!

Robin Lyons, driving his Lynn Recruitment sponsored Mini saloon, won his class in dominant fashion at the Northern Ireland championship autotest held at Omagh on Saturday.

Changing weather conditions made the track surface treacherous and current N.I. champion Peter Grimes incurred a penalty driving his Mini Special.  However Lyons, the Drumbo Estate Agent, made it 6 class wins out of 7 this year following on from his win at Enniskillen 2 weeks ago. Despite 3 rounds of the championship left, this leaves him the class champion for 2008 and qualifies him to represent Northern Ireland at the Inter County Annual Ken Wharton event held in October at Bromsgrove near Birmingham.

The remainder of the Northern Ireland team have yet to be selected but Robin feels that this year the team will be very strong and stand an excellent chance of winning this very prestigious event. Robin's father John, a former British, Northern Ireland and Irish Autotest Champion, represented his country successfully many times in the 1970's and son Robin is keen to emulate his success.
